Man its been a while...*Contest!!* EDITED

Thu Oct 1, 2009, 1:27 AM
Its been a while since I have posted/pretty much done ANYTHING on DA, and the internet in general not to mention touch a brush to canvas in even longer. I had several medical issues that came up that ended up swallowing my time, coupled with a recent motorcycle accident that left me laid up with a dislocated shoulder and several torn tendons in my elbow all of which happened to my right arm which coincidently is my painting hand.

Long story short I am well on my way to recovery, unfortunatly because of the medical issues my attempts to re-enlist in the Navy were pretty much squashed leading to a pretty bad case of depression that I had to kick my ass out of, luckly thanks to family and a certain someone who I have become very close with I can say that I am once again back on track and ready to get some paint on canvas again!

Currently I have 2 projects in the works, one a 9x12 scene from the original Kirbys Adventure which should be done sometime this week or next.

The second is a big 24x36 of a scene from Mega Man X on the SNES. This one I started well before I painted the Peach 360, Unfortunatly its a painting that over time I just seemed to lose interest in. I have every intention of attempting to finish it but I think its just going to get shelved for a while as a side project until I can motivate myself again.

and Third. I have a HUGE 40x40 Canvas that was originally going to be the ending scene from Mega Man 7, but then I came to my senses and realized "Dude...Mega Man 7 was SHIT" like...I hate that Mega Man more than any other. Therefore it remains blank and unfulfilled. Where end lies my dilemma

What the hell do I paint on that massive canvas??

Being that I have drawn a complete and utter blank on the subject I am submitting the question to my watchers in the form of a contest.

Here are the rules.

Concept: It has to be Video game of course, any early generation console or handheld will be fine as long as it is from the SNES era or later "Certain exceptions can be made for PC and other consoles just submit them with your idea"

Size: I REFUSE to go smaller than 1/5th inch pixel size which roughly translates to a 200 pixel by 200 pixel image, larger pixel sizes are ok.

Submissions: All submissions can be sent to me through DA's messenger system or emailed to zeronifty@yahoo.com

Time: All submissions must be submitted by Thursday Oct 1st, Thereafter I will pick the top 3 which will then be submitted to a vote not only from here on DA but also on the Pixelgasm Forums where I maintain a thread on my artwork, from that the winner will be announced.

and now to the meat of the contest the PRIZE!

Prize will be your choice between one of Two paintings I currently still posses or your choice of any videogame scene on a 9x12 canvas all of which I will pay for shipping within the US, for my international friends "I know there is a few out there" I will only cover up to 20 dollars USD.

good luck with your sales,
personally I always like buying stuff that expresses the artists pov rather than my own, so to me one's that you've made of your own accord are the best, they contain your passion :D

I like that one as well, if anything for the simple nostalgic value it holds for me.
